This no-fuss recipe uses tender beef stew meat, dry onion soup mix, and rich mushroom gravy to create a deeply flavorful meal with minimal effort. The “no peek” method locks in moisture and flavor while the oven does all the work.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs beef stew meat, cubed

1 packet dry onion soup mix

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 can (10.5 oz) brown gravy

1/2 cup water or beef broth (optional)

1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)

1/2 cup chopped onions or mushrooms (optional)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C).

In a bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, brown gravy, onion soup mix, and water.

Place beef in a 9×13 baking dish.

Pour sauce mixture over the beef and stir to coat evenly.

Cover the dish tightly with foil. Do not open while baking.

Bake for 2.5 to 3 hours until beef is fork-tender.
