  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or melted butter

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast – Mix warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit until foamy (5–10 minutes).
  2. Prepare the dough – Combine flour and salt. Stir in yeast mixture and oil.
  3. Knead – Work the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. First rise – Let the dough rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours.
  5. Shape & second rise – Punch down the dough, shape it, and let it rise for 30–45 minutes.
  6. Bake – Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool & serve – Let the bread rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
