This indulgent chocolate bar combines classic dessert layers with luxurious Middle Eastern ingredients like chopped Medjool dates, ground cardamom, and pistachios for a rich Dubai-inspired twist.

Base Layer:
- 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ½ cup melted unsalted butter
- ¼ cup brown sugar
Filling & Flavor Boost:
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup chopped Medjool dates (optional)
- ½ teaspoon ground cardamom
- ½ teaspoon sea salt
Chocolate Layer:
- 1 ½ cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or butter
- ¼ cup chopped pistachios or almonds (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Mix crust ingredients (graham crumbs, melted butter, and sugar) and press into the pan. Bake for 10 minutes.
- Combine filling ingredients and pour over the cooled crust. Bake for another 12–15 minutes.
- Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil and spread over the cooled filling.
- Top with chopped pistachios and chill for at least 2 hours.
- Slice and serve. Use a hot knife for clean edges.
Notes
- Swap dates for raisins or figs, or skip them for a smoother filling.
- Use gluten-free graham crackers for a GF version.
- Replace condensed milk with coconut milk and use vegan chocolate for a dairy-free option.
