Description

This indulgent chocolate bar combines classic dessert layers with luxurious Middle Eastern ingredients like chopped Medjool dates, ground cardamom, and pistachios for a rich Dubai-inspired twist.

Base Layer:

  • 1 ½ cups graham cracker crumbs
  • ½ cup melted unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup brown sugar

Filling & Flavor Boost:

  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • ½ cup chopped Medjool dates (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cardamom
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt

Chocolate Layer:

  • 1 ½ cups semi-sweet or dark chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil or butter
  • ¼ cup chopped pistachios or almonds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Mix crust ingredients (graham crumbs, melted butter, and sugar) and press into the pan. Bake for 10 minutes.
  3. Combine filling ingredients and pour over the cooled crust. Bake for another 12–15 minutes.
  4. Melt chocolate chips with coconut oil and spread over the cooled filling.
  5. Top with chopped pistachios and chill for at least 2 hours.
  6. Slice and serve. Use a hot knife for clean edges.

Notes

  • Swap dates for raisins or figs, or skip them for a smoother filling.
  • Use gluten-free graham crackers for a GF version.
  • Replace condensed milk with coconut milk and use vegan chocolate for a dairy-free option.
