  • 1/2 cup oats
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup cold butter, cubed
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp golden syrup
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 cup dark chocolate, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix whole wheat flour, oats, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add cold butter and brown sugar; rub with fingers until mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  4. Stir in golden syrup and milk to form a dough—do not overmix.
  5. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thickness; cut out rounds with a cookie cutter.
  6. Place biscuits on tray and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
  7. Cool on wire rack.
  8. Melt dark chocolate and spread or dip cooled biscuits; allow to set.
